In the crisp cool wine cellar of Borgo Santo Pietro’s twelfth-century villa hosted by our expert sommeliers, our wine tastings take participants all through Tuscany by leveraging their senses. From introductory glances to a deeper overview of the grape, the land and the wine, find yourself drenched in history as you choose from our various courses on offer – Super Tuscans Masterclass, Montalcino Masterclass and The Wine In Tuscany.
Grotto Dining
Enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner for two or celebrate a special occasion in an intimate group of up to four, in the private grotto area. Tucked away in the grounds, it’s undisturbed by other diners, with exclusive service from your own personal waiter. Discreetly located in one of our most scenic garden nooks, it’s an ideal location for secluded suppers and romantic proposals, or to simply take in the stillness of the starlit Valle Serena.
Cookery Lessons
Learn the secrets of a Tuscan kitchen at our state-of-the-art Borgo Cooking School, with classes designed to suit beginners, families and chefs-to-be. We encourage guests to get hands-on with our produce so your class will begin in the culinary garden where you collect the very ingredients that you will be cooking with. Choose to fill your own ravioli with our local mamma in a pasta-making class or learn to make the perfect Italian pizza in a traditional wood-burning oven in our Pizza Making class. If you’re a plant-based foods lover, the Garden Gourmet class with our Fermentation chef is your paradise or you can acquire the best of Tuscan cooking skills in our Tuscan Traditions class with the chef sharing family recipes passed down from generation to generation.
Borgo Picnic
Relaxation takes all forms here at Borgo Santo Pietro. Turn the day into a romantic gourmet picnic event with one of our seasonal picnic hampers, or choose a private spot to relax within the grounds. We provide you with everything you need to enjoy the season’s fresh gourmet harvest al fresco, surrounded by 13 blissful acres of gardens. Those who would like to experience the true Tuscan countryside can also pick a spot by the River Merse or on the sunny slopes of the estate looking over vineyards back towards Borgo.
Farmers’ Market
In the evenings, the Trattoria Sull’Albero plays host to our gourmet Farmers’ Market, where guests are invited to take their pick from a range of fresh meat, fish, cheese and seasonal produce on offer. Watch it being prepared and cooked on the spot. Live music adds to the relaxed and festive outdoor atmosphere, providing the ideal environment in which to mingle with other guests and enjoy a showcase of local produce under the stars.
Orto Pop-Up Dinner
During summer months, guests are welcome to tantalize their taste-buds at Borgo Santo Pietro’s pop-up restaurant in the vegetable garden, Orto. Served here, are cherished seasonal foods created from the plants grown and nurtured on our estate, in keeping with our dream to make our culinary endeavours more sustainable while also respecting the rhythm of nature.
